Maternal Child Health

Health Services

Maternal-child health services are provided by the Heskw’en’scutxe Health Services Society Community Health Nurse with the support of the Community Health Representative. They include:

  • Newborn care
  • Prenatal and postnatal care
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Child growth and development assessments
  • Referral to a speech therapist, audiologist, dietician, occupational therapist, and/or physical therapist
  • Children’s oral health initiative (COHI)
  • Access to maternity belts, manual breast pumps, nipple shields, prenatal vitamins, infant vitamin D drops, and childhood vitamins (for children under 5-years-of-age)
