My name is Clarissa Frederick and I am originally from the Lheidli T’enneh, in Prince George. I moved here to the Nlhakapamux territory in 2008. I am honored to have been taught Nlhakapamux traditions such as language, harvesting, hunting and art making throughout my childhood to now. Learning our traditional ways has shaped me to be the person I am today. I am independent, patient, kind-hearted, a warrior, and a leader. I am grateful for all the teachings I received throughout these years and continuously grateful as I am still learning.
HHSS gave me this opportunity to work helping our people live a better quality of life in a holistic way and to advocate on their behalf. As the Lead Home Care Aide, I am honored the communities of Siska and Cooks Ferry allow me into their homes and share their stories, allowing me to grow as a person and care aide. I graduated the Health Care Assistant Program through NVIT in 2019. My long-term goal is to become a LPN, as I continue to pursue my career in health. Mussih cho.
