Maternal Child Health
Maternal-child health services are provided by the Heskw’en’scutxe Health Services Society Community Health Nurse with the support of the Community Health Representative. They include:
- Newborn care
- Prenatal and postnatal care
- Breastfeeding support
- Child growth and development assessments
- Referral to a speech therapist, audiologist, dietician, occupational therapist, and/or physical therapist
- Children’s oral health initiative (COHI)
- Access to maternity belts, manual breast pumps, nipple shields, prenatal vitamins, infant vitamin D drops, and childhood vitamins (for children under 5-years-of-age)
